My 10 Favorite Homesteading YouTube Channels

Homesteading YouTube - E. Jean Homestead

When I began researching, I thought to search for homesteading YouTube channels one day. Oh what a glorious rabbit hole that search took me down. One video led to more videos and different channels. Now I am hooked. Now that I think about it, I laugh. Is having a list of homesteading YouTube channels that I watch on a regular basis any different from the young kids nowadays watching YouTube videos of people playing games? Calling my nephew out on this one! Watching someone else live the lifestyle that you long for is, if nothing else, educational. Luckily for us, there is something else. In addition to educational, it is comforting and motivational.

We have learned so much from watching homesteading YouTube channels. Learning to keep animals, plant gardens and maintain both has put us ahead of the game in my opinion. When it is time for us to execute building and maintaining a homestead for ourselves, we will have some idea where to start. Knowing that these homesteaders have similar wants and goals as my family makes me feel like we are not alone. It is both comforting and motivational to know that at some point, they all started where we currently are. These homesteaders did it, are actively living it and I believe that we can too. 1. Life Uncontained
    • Description : After years spent not knowing what to do with our lives, we have finally decided to chase what makes us happy. Inspired by our past road trips, the hippies of the seventies, and the alien, Elon Musk, we are choosing to risk everything. We are selling our traditional home, quitting our current jobs, and moving from Florida to Texas where we will build our dream debt-free net zero shipping container home.

We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life to live our passions and grow food! We became passionate about what we put into our bodies and how to care for our bodies after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our dream. We started YouTube videos to keep our family back out west up to date on our happenings, also to inspire others to live their dream and not be afraid of change! To show everyone our highs and lows on this incredible life changing journey!

After suburban homesteading in Southern California for a few years, we’ve sold most of our “stuff”, packed up the rest into a travel trailer, traveled the United States with our four kids to find our forever homestead, and are now revitalizing an old homestead in North Carolina! We live small, love hard, and have one major goal – to LIVE a life worth living.

  8. Living Traditions Homestead
    • Description: Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a more traditional life in our modern world. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings that life has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozark’s. We put out 3 new videos every week! Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family as we all learn from each other how to live a simpler, debt-free life!
